Eligibility
Sycuan Inter-Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Program Eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Applicant is a member of a federal or state recognized tribe.
- Applicant resides on or near the SITVR designated service area in San Diego County.
- Applicant has a mental or physical disability resulting in a substantial impediment to employment.
- The applicant will benefit in terms of an employment outcome from VR services.
The Rehabilitation Process
A typical series of steps is individually developed to help an applicant obtain, maintain, or retain employment based on his or her abilities.
- Apply for services.
- Complete diagnosis and evaluation.
- Eligibility determined.
- Develop an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE).
- Receive VR services.
- Employment search and job placement assistance.
- Receive follow-up counseling and guidance.
- Conclusion of successful services and post-employment services.
An applicant’s eligibility must be established before receiving VR services. Applicants must have a physical
or mental disability that prevents them from obtaining employment. In addition, applicants must benefit from
VR services.

Process
Rehabilitation is a Series of Steps aimed at obtaining and Maintaining Employment. It is based on Individual Abilities. It is also Important to understand that Everyone has unique Strengths and Challenges.

SITVR helps to cope with or overcome a particular disability while improving abilities for an occupation. The program helps those who desire to improve their situation through Training, Access to Resources, Guidance, and Counseling.
